This page hosts just a few suggestions and ideas for finding accommodation on and around Vashon Island. We suggest looking into places to stay soon, as the Memorial will be taking place at the beginning of a really beautiful time to be in Washington.
For anyone interested, we would like to offer a portion of the property to any persons who would like to simply prop up a tent for the night before and following the Memorial. The property is only 5 acres, but there is plenty of space for any individuals who aren't too shy and want a free place to stay. There will be a honeypot (portable toilet) on site for the Memorial. A little B&B on Vashon Island that has received wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. Its located only 10 minutes from both Vashon's town center and the Memorial location.

A good option for people coming from the North, or for anyone who would like to stay close to Seattle and the northern Vashon ferry.
A small, full-service lodge that is easy to find (and some rooms are dog friendly). Its received good reviews on Trip Advisor, and boasts that it is the only full-service lodging accommodation in the West Seattle area.

Alexis Hotel | Downtown Seattle
This boutique hotel right in the middle of downtown Seattle is a favorite of Steve's daughter, Micole, who highly recommends it! Its a little bit more pricey than perhaps a little rental on Vashon or the Grove Inn, but a regular room isn't a ridiculous price and is well worth it!
They do have a few pet-friendly rooms, complimentary wifi, a restaraunt and bar, and millions of dollars worth of artwork on every single wall (and room) in the hotel. An absolutely luxurious and beautiful place to stay. Only 20 minutes from the West Seattle ferry and a short walk from the famous Pike's Place Market.

Silver Cloud Inn | Tacoma Waterfront
A lovely inn situated RIGHT on the water in Ruston (a small town at the edge of Tacoma). The rooms look quite lovely and they have all the modern amenities a person could hope for. While they do not allow pets, every single room has a water view.
Another bonus to this place? It is only a 5-10 minute drive from the southern Vashon Ferry (and once on the island, it is only another 5 minutes to the Memorial service's location).
